Lighting the Path to Science: PHS Batch ’93 Donates 9 Smart LED TVs to Alma Mater

On a rainy Monday morning, while most students of Pampanga High School stayed home due to class cancellations, something bright and hopeful was brewing inside the campus. Members of PHS Batch 1993 returned to their beloved alma mater—not just to visit, but to give back in a way that would leave a lasting legacy.

Bringing with them 9 brand-new Devant 43-inch Smart LED TVs, the batch formally turned over the donation to the Science Department of Pampanga High School. The TVs were received by the school’s principal, Mr. Richard Agustin, together with the Science Department Head Ms Edilberta Esguerra, and Master Teacher and PHS 93 Alumnus Mr. Adrian Reyes.

More than just high-definition screens, these televisions are gifts of learning—powerful tools that will bring science to life inside the classroom. With today’s learners more engaged through visual storytelling and multimedia content, this donation is set to help teachers deliver lessons in a clearer, more impactful, and more exciting way.

“These are more than just screens,” said Gil Kristian David, president of Batch ’93. “They are windows to the world, tools of inspiration, and instruments of transformation.”

As alumni, the members of Batch ’93 know what it means to sit in those very classrooms, to dream, to struggle, and to push forward. They credit Pampanga High School for shaping who they are today—professionals, leaders, parents, and citizens.

“Now it’s our turn to give back,” David added. “Through these Smart TVs, we hope to ignite curiosity, empower young minds, and support our teachers in making science come alive—visually, vividly, and powerfully.”

This project is part of the PHS Batch 1993 Legacy Projects—a testament to what’s possible when alumni unite with a shared purpose: to invest in the future by supporting the present. Representing the batch during the turnover were:

Gil Kristian David – Batch President

Salen Briones Maristela – Secretary

Tony Muñoz – Auditor

Sherwin Salvador, Greg Dizon, and Jhune Henzon – Members

It is hoped that this act of generosity will not only serve its immediate purpose in enhancing science education but will also inspire other alumni batches to find ways to support their former school.

“Let this gift serve as a reminder: education is everyone’s responsibility,” David said. “And when alumni come together, we don’t just build memories—we build futures.”
